Chinese EV startup XPENG (can we still call it a startup) has entered another new market. One of the fastest growing Chinese EV brands in terms of sales outside of China, it is one of the fastest growing EV brands globally for sales outside of its domestic market. Now it has entered the market of Cambodia, where 17+ million people live.

XPENG has partnered with NSPENG for the import, sale, service, etc. of its vehicles in Cambodia. XPENG is launching 6 models right off the bat in the country, which makes for one of XPENG’s more ambitious launches. Deliveries begin next month, in November.

“Partnership is just the beginning. Earning the trust of our users will be the key to success,” Elsa Zhang, Head of XPENG’ Asia Pacific Market, said at the launch. “Moving forward, XPENG will leverage its advanced smart EV technology and innovative mobility solutions, focusing relentlessly on delivering superior product experiences and reliable services. We will work closely with NSPENG to deepen our roots in the local market, committed to providing Cambodian owners with smarter, more convenient, and eco-friendly driving experiences. We aim to bring future-ready technology to this ancient kingdom and gain market recognition through tangible user satisfaction.”

“The Cambodian automotive market is at a critical juncture, embracing a transformation toward electric mobility. As a rising star in the ASEAN region, Cambodia’s openness and vibrant economy are paving the way for future mobility. According to the Cambodia Automobile Association, the country has a large number of fuel-powered vehicles over 13 years old, providing a wide opportunity for the introduction of Chinese-made electric vehicles. XPENG’s cutting-edge smart technology and expertise in charging infrastructure are perfectly suited to meet Cambodia’s growing demand for green transportation,” XPENG writes.

“Currently, XPENG has established two sales and service outlets in Cambodia, with plans to expand to four outlets next year. NSPENG also plans to increase the number of DC fast-charging stations by adding five new points to meet the growing charging demand from local users.”

XPENG just keeps rolling out its business across the world. Where to next?
