London, September 26, 2025, (Oilandgaspress) –– Xpeng Motors and Alibaba Cloud officially signed a post-quantum security technology cooperation agreement at the Yunqi Conference. Lin Pengpeng, Senior Director of Xpeng Motors, and Yang Yong, Director of Alibaba Cloud’s Data Security Product Line, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. Under the agreement, Alibaba Cloud will become Xpeng Motors’ partner in security algorithm business. Both parties announced that they will build on their post-quantum security algorithm project as the foundation of their collaboration, jointly developing and expanding their collaboration in automotive security algorithms to provide more secure and reliable services to their customers.

Post-quantum cryptographic security is a new type of encryption technology. It builds a secure algorithm system to defend against quantum computing attacks by solving mathematical problems that still have high computational complexity under quantum computing models, such as learning with errors (LWE) and hash signatures.
In the automotive industry, everything from user authentication and voice commands to AI-assisted driving and smart cockpit features, and from vehicle-to-cloud and roadside equipment communications and data transmission, all rely on existing cryptographic algorithms for security. Preemptive deployment of post-quantum cryptography can help protect smart cars from potential threats posed by quantum computers in the future.
