World Mining Congress begins in Brisbane

The World Mining Congress has kicked off in Brisbane today, with sustainability and mineral policy key topics.

Held in Brisbane from June 26–29, the World Mining Congress (WMC) presents an opportunity for international representatives of the world’s leading resource economies to meet, find new partners, discuss current challenges, and share the latest research, technology and best practice.

Day one of the congress will see Federal Minister for Resources Madeleine King speak on the new Critical Minerals Strategy. Joining King will be Federal Shadow Minister for Resources Susan McDonald, Queensland Resources Minister Scott Stewart and International Energy Agency chief energy economist Tim Gould.

The full program will include 14 keynote plenary speakers and over 80 stream keynote speakers headlining more than 300 technical discussions segmented through 13 core streams, three symposia, workshops and industry sessions.
