Wenco International Mining Systems recently announced the latest version of Wenco Drill and Drill Manager, delivering a major safety enhancement: Bootleg Visualization and Guidance System.
Bootlegs – remnants of previously blasted holes – pose serious safety risks and can lead to costly downtime. Striking a bootleg can cause equipment damage, unplanned downtime, and serious safety risks for drill operators and crews. The new Bootleg Visualization and Warning System helps mine sites proactively manage these hazards, delivering critical hazard data directly to the drill operator’s screen.
Key capabilities in this release:
- Seamless Data Integration: Upload bootleg coordinates via CSV in Drill Manager, automatically syncing with drill packages for fast, reliable setup.
- In-Cab Visualisation: Bootlegs appear as red circles on drill navigation maps and level views for clear awareness of hazard zones.
- Real-Time Awareness: When a drill is positioned over a bootleg, an on-screen warning icon appears directly on the Start Drilling button, preventing accidental activation.
- Display Control: Operators can toggle bootleg visibility on or off for a clutter-free interface.
This update the company says reinforces Wenco’s ongoing commitment to safety-first mining technology and continuous innovation. By combining data-driven hazard awareness with operator-friendly design, Wenco Drill and Drill Manager give drill teams greater confidence, control, and safety.
