Carbon Tax Increased 23%

I sat down with my colleague and the host of The BLUEPRINT and discussed the effect of the punitive inflationary carbon tax increase.

Is it the best role of government to collect high taxes and then redistribute them back to Canadians and industries they consider worthy? That’s what this government does, and no better example than the escalating carbon tax, which pumps up inflation but doesn’t reduce emissions. It isn’t an environmental plan – it is a tax scheme.

The Parliamentary Budget Officer has confirmed that Canadians would be better off without the carbon tax. After eight years of this NDP-Liberal government, life has never been more expensive. To make matters worse, on April 1st, the Liberals have played a cruel joke on Canadians, hiking the carbon tax again – this time by 23% – on gas, heat, and groceries. Although the tax is going up 23%, the rebates are going up just 16%. So more Canadians will pay more.
