Volkswagen certainly benefited from the 3rd quarter EV sales surge in the US. It’s main electric model, the ID.4, saw its sales jump 176% compared to the 3rd quarter of 2024. Adding in sales of the ID. Buzz, which was not yet on the market in the US at this time last year, Volkswagen saw its EV sales explode 230.7% year over year.
The ID.4 had 12,470 sales in Q3 2025, and that brought its total sales through the first three quarters of the year to 22,125. The ID. Buzz added another 2,469 in Q3 and 4,934 across the first 9 months of 2025.
