True North’s ‘multi-kilometre-scale’ copper system

True North Copper has uncovered a series of high-quality drill targets at its Aquila copper-cobalt-silver discovery within the Mt Oxide project in Queensland, where drilling is already underway.

The new targets were identified in a recent induced polarisation (IP) survey, which extended the Aquila geophysical trend from just 250 metres to more than 1.3 kilometres.

“Our recent IP survey has significantly expanded our understanding of the Aquila mineralised system, building on the exceptional drill results we announced in July,” True North managing director Bevan Jones said. “What began as a single anomaly with limited strike extents is now emerging as a potential multi-kilometre-scale copper-cobalt-silver system.”

Aquila has already produced standout results, including 145m at 0.75 per cent copper, 0.12 per cent cobalt and 2.9 grams per tonne (g/t) silver from 28m, and 30m at 2.45 per cent copper, 0.02 per cent cobalt and 6.2g/t silver from 20m.

The IP survey also outlined two new trends, Apollo and Acanthis, both displaying anomalies equal to or stronger than those that led to the original Aquila discovery.

First-pass drilling has been completed at the southern end of Apollo, with systematic drilling to follow across all three trends.

“The speed at which we’ve completed this follow-up work is a testament to the strength of our exploration strategy and the efforts of our team,” Jones said.

“We’ve now defined three distinct, large-scale geophysical trends that have comparable or stronger anomalies than those that led to the Aquila discovery.

“Our next steps are clear and focused: we’ve completed first-pass drilling at the southern end of the Apollo trend, and we’re finalising planning for an aggressive follow-up program across all newly defined extensions.

“This systematic, data-driven approach has proven its value at Aquila, and we’re confident it will continue to deliver resource growth and create significant value across the Mt Oxide project.”
