Tivan returns high-grade results at Sandover

Tivan has returned further ultra high-grade assay results from its Sandover fluorite project in the Northern Territory, cementing the project as a world-class fluorite deposit.

The latest surface sampling program, completed in April and May, returned fluorite grades of up to 91.4 per cent calcium fluorite (CaF₂) from 88 rock chip samples.

Seven samples returned grades greater than 80 per cent CaF₂, and 25 per cent of all samples returned grades over 50 per cent CaF₂. This follows Tivan’s initial sampling in December 2024, which delivered grades of up to 94 per cent CaF₂. Results from both programs also highlighted 7km of mineralised strike length.

Fluorite is used to produce commercial grade fluorspar products and fluorine.

There is currently no domestic fluorspar or fluorine production in Australia, but Tivan is looking to become the first following the Federal Government adding fluorine to the critical minerals list in December 2023.

“Our understanding of the fluorite resource at Sandover continues to improve, underpinned by historic drilling and extensive surface sampling programs,” Tivan executive chair Grant Wilson said.

“In parallel, we are progressing approvals and clearances in rapid time, aided by the good standing Tivan has achieved in central Australia over the past two years.”

Tivan also identified barite mineralisation in the southern part of the tenement, with grades reaching up to 45 per cent barium oxide.

Tivan plans to commence its first drilling program at Sandover since 1971–72 in October, with approvals and environmental licensing processes underway.

The campaign will be supported by a $150,000 exploration grant from the NT Government, under round 18 of its Geophysics and Drilling Collaborations program.

“The drilling campaign we have scheduled for October will be funded by capital that we raised earlier this year, along with NT Government exploration grants,” Wilson said.

“We are aiming to achieve a step-change toward the development of the Sandover fluorite project.”
