TILER, a clean-tech startup based in the Netherlands, is looking to change how we charge electric bikes. Its latest innovation, the TILER Compact, offers an easy and intuitive way to keep your e‑bike powered — just by parking it.
Charging Without The Cord
With TILER Compact, there’s no plugging in, no fiddling with wires, and no hassle. Just roll your e-bike onto the charging Tile, and it starts charging automatically. The system uses a slim charging pad (the Tile) and a specially designed kickstand that connects to the bike’s battery using a small adapter. Together, they deliver safe, contactless power through induction charging. Charging is as fast as using a regular wired charger, and it works in any weather, thanks to its waterproof IP67-rated design.
Designed For E-Bikes & E-Cargo Fleets
TILER says the Compact is compatible with about 78% of current e-bike systems, including popular brands like Bosch, Shimano, Yamaha, and Bafang. Riders can choose between the standard e-Stand for regular bikes or the Cargo Cube for heavier cargo models. The system is simple to install and connects to a regular wall outlet. Even better, up to 24 Tiles can run off a single 230V power source, making it a scalable solution for offices, mobility hubs, and delivery fleets.
Tested & Proven
TILER’s technology isn’t just theoretical or some sort of vaporware, as it’s been proven to work out in the real world. Over 300,000 kilometers have already been powered using earlier versions of the system. More than 200 Compact units are currently being tested across cities in the Netherlands, Germany, and Ireland. In one real-world case, a fleet of 20 e-cargo bikes using TILER saved around €1,250 per month in labor by eliminating manual battery swaps. For shared mobility operators or last-mile delivery services, that kind of efficiency adds up fast.
Smart For Sustainability
Wireless charging may sound like a luxury, but TILER’s approach is rooted in practicality and sustainability. By making charging effortless, the system helps ensure bikes are always ready to ride. That increases uptime, reduces human error, and avoids unnecessary wear on batteries from improper charging practices. It also removes many of the hidden costs of managing e-bike fleets — things like maintenance, charging infrastructure, and employee time.
Crowdfunding The Future
To help bring the Compact to wider markets, TILER launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube in July 2025. The campaign aims to raise €300,000 to support production and rollout. Backers can invest for actual shares, and the system is expected to retail for about €225 (~$264).
A Step Toward Smarter Urban Mobility
TILER Compact is a small piece of hardware with the potential to make a big impact. By taking the effort out of charging, it paves the way for a more seamless, sustainable, and scalable e-bike ecosystem, whether you’re a solo commuter or managing a whole fleet. Find out more at TILER.
