London, September 17, 2024, (Oilandgaspress) ––H2Accelerate collaboration has welcomed TEAL Mobility as its eighth member. TEAL Mobility brings to the collaboration its ambitious plans to deploy more than 100 hydrogen refuelling stations for heavy-duty vehicles on major European road corridors over the next 10 years. The company is already making significant strides towards this target, implementing plans to operate around 20 hydrogen refuelling stations in France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany by the end of 2024.
Air Liquide and TotalEnergies have bundled forces in the hydrogen sector to create the joint venture TEAL Mobility. This partnership strengthens the collective effort to scale up green hydrogen as a fuel for the heavy-duty vehicle sector across Europe, which is essential to achieve the European Union’s 2030 HDV CO2 targets. TEAL Mobility combines the expertise of its two founding companies: the technologies and value chain to produce low carbon and renewable hydrogen from Air Liquide, and the installation, operation and management of the distribution infrastructure from TotalEnergies.
The development of hydrogen refuelling infrastructure is completely aligned with the H2Accelerate collaboration’s ambitions to accelerate the uptake of green hydrogen for trucking in Europe, by bringing together hydrogen vehicle manufacturers and infrastructure providers. Existing members bp, Daimler Truck, Iveco Group, Linde, Shell, TotalEnergies, and Volvo Group have welcomed TEAL Mobility to the collaboration as a key player in the future hydrogen mobility ecosystem.
Hannah Bryson-Jones, Spokesperson for the H2Accelerate collaboration, said of TEAL Mobility joining the collaboration:
“TEAL Mobility is dedicated to establishing a pan-European hydrogen refuelling network, an ambition which is exactly aligned with those of the H2Accelerate collaboration. A collective effort is crucial to accelerate the deployment of green hydrogen for trucking. We are excited and honoured to have TEAL Mobility joining the collaboration, and look forward to shaping the European hydrogen trucking ecosystem together.”
Florentin de Loppinot, CEO of TEAL Mobility, said of TEAL Mobility joining:
“We believe the best way to shape the hydrogen future is to realise it. TEAL Mobility is committed to fast-tracking hydrogen mobility. This is best achieved through a collaborative effort between refuelling infrastructure providers and vehicle OEMs, to create the complementary growth of both supply and demand that is needed to make hydrogen trucking viable.”
