Australian technology company Swift Networks has launched Swift TV, a compact, Google-certified device designed specifically for mining villages.
The platform combines Swift’s proprietary communication platform – which enables the sharing of vital wellbeing and safety information – with an extensive suite of entertainment options, including the largest on-demand movie catalogue in the sector, secure casting, and access to the Google Play Store.
Together, these capabilities deliver a unified experience that supports both the operational and personal needs of mining workforces.
Swift has a longstanding history supporting Australia’s leading mining operators, with clients including Hancock Iron Ore, BHP, Fortescue, and more.
Over more than a decade, Swift has worked closely with HSE teams, site managers, and contractors to deliver trusted technology that enhances communication, safety, and wellbeing in remote environments.
Supporting workforce wellbeing and connection
Swift TV provides mining companies with a powerful new tool to promote workforce wellbeing and strengthen communication across dispersed and shift-based teams.
Through Swift’s communication and content management system, companies can use in-room screens to:
• Share Employee Assistance Program (EAP) resources and confidential support contacts
• Deliver educational content about mental health, fatigue, and isolation
• Broadcast wellbeing campaigns and safety reminders site-wide
By bringing this information to a platform more likely to be turned on, on site, Swift TV creates a visible, accessible, and private channel for workers to engage with wellbeing resources.
Swift TV also incorporates Bluetooth connectivity, allowing personnel to use personal headsets for quiet rest and better sleep quality between shifts, contributing to fatigue management and overall mental health.
“Swift TV brings together everything that matters to site life — communication, wellbeing, and entertainment — into one integrated platform,” Swift Networks chief executive officer Brian Mangano said.
“It’s designed to keep workers informed, supported, and connected, while helping companies strengthen their wellbeing and safety communication strategies.”
Safety and reliability at the core
Engineered for high-compliance environments, Swift TV integrates directly with PAGA (public address and general alarm) systems, ensuring it can automatically interrupt any content – including third-party streaming services such as Netflix or YouTube – to deliver urgent site-wide alerts.
The platform also includes failsafe redundancy, maintaining communication reliability during critical events and ensuring safety messages reach all personnel instantly, even in network-limited conditions.
“Swift TV unites safety-critical communication and workforce engagement on one secure device,” Swift chief product officer Rob Buckler said. “It supports operators in meeting both compliance requirements and the wellbeing expectations of today’s mining workforce.”
Only Google-certified device of Its kind in Australia
Swift TV is the only Google-certified connected TV device of its kind in Australia, providing direct access to the Google Play Store via the Swift home screen.
It is also Netflix-approved and supports Swift’s industry-leading on-demand movie library and secure casting, allowing workers to access both company-approved and personal entertainment content safely within a managed environment.
Swift’s proprietary technology ensures that critical safety alerts override any active app or streaming service, maintaining a seamless balance between entertainment, operational communication, and compliance.
Plug-and-Play Simplicity for Remote Sites
Swift TV has been engineered for rapid deployment and ease of management across mining camps, accommodation villages, and operational facilities.
Its plug-and-play design connects to any TV without complex setup, allowing onsite teams to install and manage systems independently, if they want, reducing downtime and costs.
Swift reports strong early interest from its mining client base and encourages operators planning village upgrades, wellbeing initiatives, or digital communication enhancements to secure units from the initial shipment, with installations commencing January 2026.
