A cost-effective modular chamber that offers increased flexibility.
The new Strata emergency refuge chamber – modular (ERCM) is an emergency refuge chamber with a modular design.
It consists of individual sections that can be assembled before or after delivery. This design offers several advantages, including lower cost of ownership, greater sizing flexibility, easier transport and handling, and shorter delivery lead times.
Operators can order chambers to their existing requirements and add more capacity later. Sizes range from 12 to 36 people by increasing the number of seating modules included. This results in a cost-effective unit that can be modified over time to meet changing project, site, and workforce needs.
The new Strata human machine interface (HMI) is a computerised management system located inside the chamber. It provides full insight and feedback on the chamber’s operating status and internal conditions.
It can be used to monitor and control the chamber using a touchscreen display. Connecting the chamber to underground networks facilitates the streaming of data to the surface, as well as enables remote monitoring and control of chamber equipment and environmental conditions.
Strata offers a wide range of high-speed data networking options that can be customised to meet each mine’s unique needs, facilitating the connectivity of the ERCM to surface operations.
