State Grid Corporation of China Hosts 2025 “China-Brazil-Chile Cloud Open Day” Event

BEIJING–(BUSINESS WIRE)–On November 7, the State Grid Corporation of China successfully hosted the 2025 “China-Brazil-Chile Cloud Open Day” event simultaneously across seven cities: Beijing, Wuhan, and Longyan in China; Rio de Janeiro and Campinas in Brazil; and Santiago and Valparaiso in Chile.

Under the theme “When Peony of the South Blooms, Songs and Dances Weave Cultural Harmony, Connected by State Grid, Bridging Cultures with Shared Affection,” the event highlighted Hanju Opera, a treasured form of traditional Chinese art, as a cultural bridge promoting mutual understanding and friendship among China, Brazil, and Chile. It further deepened cultural and people-to-people exchanges under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, fostering cooperation in energy and power sectors through shared appreciation of diverse traditions.

The event consisted of two parts. The first half featured three sections: “Exploring Chinese Hanju Opera,” “Exploring Chilean Dance,” and “Exploring Brazilian Symphony and Dance.” Participants were immersed in the rich cultural heritage of the three nations through short documentaries, Hanju opera performances, and cultural lectures. Interactive sessions included live-streamed lessons on traditional Chilean dance and a collaborative performance of the Chinese folk song “Jasmine Flower” by the Brazilian Gonzaga Women’s Orchestra and Hanju Opera artists.

The second half showcased the intricate costumes and makeup artistry of Hanju opera, offering engaging activities such as face-painting tutorials and demonstrations of classic Hanju Opera movements. These hands-on experiences enabled participants to appreciate the elegance and expressiveness of this traditional Chinese art form.

More than 300 participants joined the event, including Chinese and international employees of State Grid, their families, and media representatives. Together, they took part in this vibrant celebration of cross-cultural exchange and cooperation.

Since its launch in 2021, State Grid’s “Cloud Open Day” initiative has been held for five consecutive years, engaging over 1,700 participants worldwide. The event has featured a wide range of traditional Chinese cultural elements—including Beijing opera, tea art, Yixing clay (zisha), ceramics, and Hanju Opera—while sharing the vision of Chinese enterprises working hand in hand with local communities to achieve shared growth and mutual prosperity.

Through these efforts, State Grid continues to promote cultural integration, enhance people-to-people connectivity, and strengthen bonds of friendship between China and Brazil and China and Chile, while presenting China’s national image through positive corporate representation.
