SpectraFlow receives more orders from Ma’aden for Crossbelt Analysers – International Mining

SpectraFlow Analytics says it has received an order for two SpectraFlow Crossbelt Analysers from Ma’aden Phosphate Company. These analysers will be deployed at the Wa’ad Al Shamal Phosphate Beneficiation Plant in the northwest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This order represent the fourth and fifth analyser installed within the Ma’aden Mining Company. This project will be implemented as a complete turnkey solution, with SpectraFlow supplying the sensors and regional partner Esnad delivering the required infrastructure.

SpectraFlow adds that it is the leading supplier of online analysers in Saudi Arabia, with over 13 operational installations across the Kingdom. This new order adds the phosphate industry to the expanding application field of the SpectraFlow Online Analyser.

Beyond phosphate, SpectraFlow provides online analysis solutions to the cement, iron ore, gold, platinum, copper, potash, bauxite, and recycling industries, continuously broadening application within these sectors. This order raises SpectraFlow‘s global installed base to over 100 analysers (60% Crossbelt & 40% Airslide) across 30 countries on all continents.

The SpectraFlow Crossbelt Analyser provides high-frequency online measurement of raw materials on belt conveyors. As raw materials from the mine are processed through a crusher, the material on the conveyor belt becomes statistically homogeneous, resulting in highly accurate analytical data from the SpectraFlow Crossbelt Analyser. These accurate, high-frequency results enable continuous monitoring of Run-of-Mine (ROM) feed at various process locations, facilitating immediate operational adjustments.

At Ma’aden’s Wa’ad Al Shamal site, one SpectraFlow Online Analyser will be positioned after the crusher and before the stockpile to optimise ROM. The second analyser will be located after the stockpile, prior to milling and flotation, to optimise the flotation process.

SpectraFlow Analytics Ltd is based in Switzerland and provides online analysis for the cement and minerals industry without any radioactive sources or neutron generators. “The NIR technology used for the SpectraFlow Analysers does not require any permits or licenses and there are no restrictions in buying, importing or maintaining the analysers. This results in very low operating costs and high availability of the analysers combined with highly accurate measurement results.”

Other cited key benefits of the SpectraFlow Analyser include a high measurement frequency every 420 ms (150 measurements per minute). It also provides real minute-by-minute results, without relying on averages or running averages. Measurement output frequency can be increased for applications such as sorting. Comprehensive material analysis gives real-time measurement of elements, mineral phases, and organic compounds. SpectraFlow also highlights ease of installation, operation, and maintenance.

It is also completely safe, allowing maintenance by operational personnel, with components storable in an onsite warehouse. And it introduces comprehensive monitoring of ROM, enabling the use of highly variable raw materials without compromising plant feed quality.
