Sofi Filtration helping optimise nickel sulphate production performance at Terrafame – International Mining

Sofi Filtration, a global pioneer in advanced water filtration and mineral recovery technologies, has delivered one of its filtration systems to Finland-based battery chemicals producer Terrafame as part of a plan to optimise filtration performance at its battery chemicals plant in Sotkamo.

The project centres on improving the process solution purity of nickel sulphate production by introducing the Sofi Prima solution – the world’s first ultra-sound self-cleaning filtration technology, according to Sofi Filtration.

This milestone achievement is a major validation of Sofi Prima’s impact and relevance in the mining sector, it says, with the scope including the integration of new filtration systems to address impurities in battery chemical recovery.

Sofi Filtration said: “Sofi Prima represents a breakthrough in industrial filtration. Built from high-grade stainless steel, Sofi Prima helps industrial operators like Terrafame maintain clean, efficient and resilient operations – while significantly cutting operational costs and water usage, the company added.
