SIEMAG TECBERG has announced the successful shipment of two sets of hoisting equipment designed and manufactured by Tianjin SIEMAG TECBERG Machinery Co Ltd in China for the SDE No 2 mine project in South Kalimantan, Indonesia. This marks SIEMAG TECBERG’s very first project in the Indonesian market – which it said was a significant step in expanding its footprint in the international mining equipment sector.
The company adds: “The successful execution of this project demonstrates SIEMAG TECBERG’s core technical strength and market competitiveness in the high-end mining equipment manufacturing industry. Thanks to its mature technical solutions and reliable equipment performance, the company has earned high recognition from the Qinfa Group and its Indonesian clients, laying a solid foundation for further international collaboration.”
The SDE No 2 mine is located in the central part of the SDE mining area which is in Eastern Kota Bharu County, South Kalimantan Province– 26 km east from the Makassar Strait. The mine covers 184.92 km2, and involves some US$300 million of investment. It has ~293 Mt of coal reserves and ~589 Mt of total coal resources. Target output is up to 10 Mt/y once mining operations stabilise with the business permit (IUP) valid until May 2034. Construction started in 2021.
The supplied service shaft hoisting system, designed for men-riding and material transport at a depth of 386 m, is equipped with two vertical shaft hoisting systems – first a large cage counterweight hoisting system with Koepe winder JKMD.5.5X6(II), directly driven by a low-speed AC motor with forced air-cooling system. Then a transportation cage counterweight system with Koepe winder JKMD-2.25X4(I), indirectly driven by motor via gearbox.
SDE is part of Qinfa Group, founded in 1996 and listed on the Hong Kong Main Board in 2009.
