Schneider Electric Named Top International Corporate Citizen in Canada

  • Corporate Knights ranks Schneider Electric Canada among the top corporate citizens for sustainability and innovation
  • Schneider Electric recognized for its exceptional performance in sustainable investments, carbon productivity, and comprehensive ESG approach

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has been recognized as one of the Top International Corporate Citizens in Canada by Corporate Knights. This prestigious award underscores Schneider Electric’s commitment to sustainability and its contributions to the Canadian economy through innovative and responsible business practices.

The Best 50 Corporate Citizens are identified each year from among the full universe of Canadian corporations with at least $1 billion in annual revenues. They are assessed based on the percentage of their investments and revenues that are sustainable, and to up to 25 other metrics that reflect both global carrying capacities in areas such as carbon emissions and aspirations for greater social equity.

“We are honored to be recognized as one of the top corporate citizens in Canada,” says Emily Heitman, Country President at Schneider Electric Canada. “This award validates our ongoing efforts to integrate sustainability and innovation into everything we do. It’s a clear sign we’re on the right track, and we’re committed to continuing this important work as we work toward building a cleaner and better future.”

Schneider Electric is recognized for its exceptional performance in sustainable investments, carbon productivity, and its comprehensive approach to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria. This recognition is a testament to the company’s dedication to driving positive change and promoting a greener, more equitable future.

According to Corporate Knights, the best 50 companies charting the list are setting a strong pace on carbon productivity, now earning an average of $1.6 million for every tonne of carbon emitted.

“The Best 50 companies are setting important benchmarks, and economy-wide trends are generally positive. But our analysis shows that we need to do more and we need to do it faster. It’s critical that we accelerate investment tax credits, clean electricity regulations, and various other frameworks that will drive more investments in sustainable direction,” says Toby Heaps, CEO at Corporate Knights.
