Sandvik inks equipment deal with southeast Asian mine

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is set to deliver another fleet of intelligent underground drills and load and haul equipment to a mine in southeast Asia.

The order comprises:

Some of the DD422i development jumbos include the company’s dual controls package, which features dual drilling controls and split feeds for manual tasks such as boring, bolting and meshing. Another includes Sandvik’s Platinum automation package, which offers options for automatic boom movements and boom collision avoidance.

“This order highlights the mine’s confidence in Sandvik’s intelligent underground drills and highly productive load and haul equipment, and commitment to automation and efficiency,” Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions vice president sales area southeast Asia Malcolm Mauger said.

The deliveries are scheduled to begin during the second quarter of 2025 and will continue through to the first quarter of 2026.

In other Sandvik news, the company has launched a drilling performance upgrade package for its DD210 narrow vein underground drill rig, designed for operations in confined areas.

It has also launched the fourth drill rig under its x-series rotary blasthole line and released the latest capability of its iSURE (intelligent Sandvik underground rock excavation) drill and blast software.
