London, August 06, 2025, (Oilandgaspress) –––SAGLEV Electromobility Company Limited has introduced the M-Hero 917, a military-inspired, ultra-modern, off-road Electric SUV, into the Nigerian market. Assembled in Lagos, this high-end EV boasts an All-terrain Intelligence System (M-ATS), optimizing performance across various terrains, including snow, mud, sand, and rock, with a 100% slope climbing power. It features rear-wheel steering, crab walk mode, and an adjustable ground clearance of up to 333mm.
The launch event, held on Thursday night at Alliance Francaise, Ikoyi, attracted dignitaries and industry stakeholders. His Royal Majesty Oba Mudashiru Ajibade Bakare Agoro of Imota, Lagos, where SAGLEV’s assembly plant is located, unveiled the vehicle.
Dr. Samuel Faleye, SAGLEV’s Chairman/CEO, highlighted the company’s vision for Nigeria to lead in clean, smart, and sustainable transportation. He affirmed SAGLEV as West Africa’s first and only dedicated EV manufacturer, assembling 16 models across five business lines, from ride-hailing to luxury and commercial vehicles. Dr. Faleye emphasized that all vehicles are assembled in Nigeria, creating jobs and promoting local technology transfer.
Cherry Cao, representing Dongfeng, described the M-Hero 917 as the evolution of their military vehicle DNA into a premium all-electric global brand. Built on their “Amtrak intelligent, off-road architecture,” it is the world’s first premium electric off-roader, available in pure electric and extended-range versions, boasting over 1000 horsepower and a 0-100 km/h time of 4.2 seconds.

SAGLEV Electromobility Nigeria has announced a bold production target of 10,000 electric vehicles (EVs) per year as it ramps up operations at its Lagos-based assembly plant. Speaking during a facility tour, Gbenga Samuel Faleye, Chairman and CEO of the company, revealed that SAGLEV’s current installed capacity stands at 2,600 vehicles annually on a single-shift basis.
