SA Green Iron full steam ahead

Following the South Australian Government’s announcement of a Green Iron and Steel Strategy, Lincoln Minerals has ramped up the search for a partner to progress its Green Iron project.

Green Iron is underpinned by a 1.2 billion tonne magnetite resource that consists of a head grade of 25.7 per cent iron.

The project is located about 35km north of Port Lincoln on SA’s Eyre Peninsula. It has been owned by Lincoln since 2018.

As part of its search for a partner, Lincoln has assembled a senior internal multi-disciplinary working group which includes specialists in all areas of Green Iron’s development, ranging from resource geology, metallurgy, infrastructure and logistics, mining, environmental and regulatory analysis, and project financial modelling.

As a key component of the multiple internal working group sessions, Lincoln determined the scope and range of project development scenarios that will be presented to interested potential partners.

A comprehensive data pack for interested potential partners has now been established containing the key project information that is required to engage with ‘Phase 1’ interested potential partners.

Lincoln is also in the final stages of completing an introductory project presentation, which will be used to inform potential partners of the scope of Green Iron.

The South Australian Government’s s Green Iron and Steel Strategy has a vision to position SA as the partner of choice for decarbonised steelmaking.

It also aims to allow the state to be a key contributor of the minerals, green iron and green steel required to support the global energy transition.

Given the South Australian Government’s support for a significant green iron and steel strategy, Lincoln has commenced dialogue with key government agencies regarding its potential role in the statewide strategy.

Once its Green Iron project presentation is complete, Lincoln confirmed will actively seek investors and potential partners to further progress the overall partnering process.
