Pilbara Minerals, Ganfeng offtake agreement expanded

Pilbara Minerals’s offtake agreement with Ganfeng Lithium Group has been extended, increasing the supply of spodumene concentrate.

Under the existing 2017 agreement, Pilbara Minerals supplies 160,000 tonnes of spodumene concentrate per year from its 100 per cent owned Pilgangoora operation in WA.

The amendment will see this amount upped to 310,000 tonnes per annum over a period of three calendar years until the end of 2026.

“We are delighted to be expanding our valued relationship with Ganfeng, who is one of the world’s leading lithium-ion supply chain participants for lithium production,” Pilbara Minerals managing director and chief financial officer Dale Henderson said.

“Ganfeng has extensive capability in the production of battery grade lithium products with over 20 years of industry experience and rapidly expanding global footprint as a major global supplier.”

Ganfeng Lithium president and vice chairman Wang Xiaoshen said the agreement expansion is another important step for the company to strengthen its relationship with Pilbara Minerals.

“The increased supply from Pilbara Minerals also demonstrates our strong commitment to support the growth of our global customers through the creation of cost-competitive and high-quality lithium raw materials,” Xiaoshen said.

“We are looking forward to our future cooperation with Pilbara Minerals.”
