Indonesia’s Petrosea recently signed an overburden stripping and removal service work (overburden removal) contract with PT Barasentosa Lestari (BSL). The duration of the contract is five years with an estimated agreement value of around Rp 3.5 trillion (almost US$215 million).
BSL is a coal mining company that is part of the Golden Energy Mines Group. Under this contract, Petrosea will act as the mining services contractor for BSL at a coal mine located at North Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra Province.
“The acquisition of this contract is part of the implementation of Petrosea’s long-term strategy to increase value creation through business expansion and business development to the South Sumatra area,” said Iman Darus Hikhman, Mining Director of PT Petrosea Tbk.
Petrosea offers various pit-to-port project services, including open pit contract mining services, civil & infrastructure construction, mining project management services, technical & feasibility study consulting services, mine planning & optimisation services and its Minerva Digital Platform solution that can be applied in each mineral and coal mining operation.
All these services are tailored to the requirements of each project by leveraging the latest technologies, which ultimately aims to increase operational efficiency and productivity. Petrosea also has the capability to monitor and control operational activities at multiple sites by utilising real-time data through its Remote Operations Centre (ROC) located at the company’s headquarters.
