Pantoro proves Norseman a raging bull

Pantoro Limited has welcomed a record March quarter, announcing an 8298-ounce (oz) gold production at its Western Australian Norseman project in the past month alone.

A total of 19,235 ounces of gold was produced from Norseman during the March quarter, leading to a positive cash flow for the company in both February and March.

Pantoro said the Norseman processing plant continued to exceed expectations with throughput of 284,535 tonnes at 94.7 per cent recovery achieved during the quarter.

The company also welcomed a raft of changes over the last three months, with a full contractor change in the open pit operations seeing APS Mining and Civil now responsible for all load and haul activities.

Tier 1 contractor RUC Mining Contractors were awarded the underground mining contract for Norseman’s Scotia open pit, and will commence work in the first week of May 2024.

Pantoro said the Scotia underground mine will become the primary production source for the operations once it is completed late in 2024.

The ramp up of Scotia will see the pit open four months ahead of schedule with an updated mine plan targeting and an annual production of 100,000–110,000oz.

Pantoro took charge of the Norseman project in February 2023 following a merger with its then equal partner, Tulla Resources.

Since its entry to the project in 2019, Pantoro has completed over 300,000 metres of RC and diamond drilling, defined ore reserves of over 958,000oz, completed construction of a new one million tonne per annum gold processing plant and recommenced production.

The current mineral resource is 4.8 million ounces of gold.
