The WA Mining Conference and Exhibition will be held from 11–12 October in Perth, and will showcase the latest technology-based solutions in mining.
With conference tickets already 90 per cent sole, the event promises to be a big one.
Over 40 speakers will present at the conference, and will speak on topics from critical minerals to technical innovation, digital risk and decarbonisation.
Sponsored by Epiroc, speakers from all levels of the mining industry, supply chain, academia, peak bodies, and government will be in attendance.
Keynotes include Rebecca Tomkinson, chief executive officer (CEO) of the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia (CME), and Sarah Coleman, CEO of mining technology firm idoba.
Other notable speakers include David Parker, executive director Western Australia for the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA), and Andrew Bailey of MinEX CRC.
Dominic Da Cruz and Ruth Kennedy of Zenith Energy will be presenting a case study of their Australian-first “at scale engine-off” mine site in the Fraser Range.
“Our project at IGO Limited’s Nova operation uses 100 per cent renewable energy for up to nine hours a day, without interruption to supply,” Da Cruz said.
“The use of renewable assets is paving the way to net zero for us, and it can be done with today’s technology. We’re looking forward to presenting this case study, as well as laying out our plans for taking technology in generation, network and storage infrastructure forward into the next few years.”
There will also be a free exhibition packed with value, with attendees able to meet over 120 digital and tech suppliers, including Google, the Australian Automation and Robotics Precinct, CR Powered by Epiroc and IFM Efector.
