NJE takes off from Brisbane

National Jet Express (NJE), a company of Rex Group, has flown passengers from Queensland for the first time after winning a contract to provide air services for BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) in May.

“We are excited to be working with BMA to provide this air service. We look forward to building a strong relationship,” NJE managing director Chris Hine said.

“This is a significant milestone for NJE, as it marks the start of our operations in Queensland. We’ve been thrilled to launch this flight from NJE’s new base in Brisbane and we are now truly open for business in Queensland.”

The contract will see NJE operate its Modern Dash 8-Q400NG ‘Next Generation’ aircraft in Brisbane.

NJE is also looking at other opportunities in Queensland, and is considering introducing its Embraer E190 jets.

The addition of Brisbane and Moranbah takes NJE’s extensive charter, fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) and freight network to 37 destinations.

“NJE looks forward to extending the Rex Group’s renowned service reliability delivered with country hospitality to Queensland,” Hine said.

Hine said the company was humbled to be able to provide the service to BMA and the wider Queensland mining community.

“Its confidence in us is an endorsement of NJE’s position as a premium regional air service provider to the mining and resources industry,” he said.

“We are happy to announce that we are now officially open for mining and resources business in Queensland. NJE will be operating a fleet of modern Dash 8-Q400NG ‘Next Generation’ aircraft, offering jet-like speeds while consuming 50 per cent less fuel and emitting lower levels of carbon.”
