Newrest feels positive impact of Latin America expansion – International Mining

Newrest, a remote site management company, says it has reached a major milestone in the energy and mining sectors with an exceptional year in 2024 marked by strategic acquisitions and significant global expansion.

As a specialist in solutions adapted to complex environments, Newrest ensures optimal remote site management, offering essential services such as accommodation, catering, maintenance and leisure management for teams working in remote areas.

The acquisition of Compass Group’s activities in Chile, Colombia and Mexico marked a key milestone for Newrest in 2024. With the integration of 15,000 new employees and an additional annual revenue of over €600 million ($629 million), the group has strengthened its presence in the mining sector in Latin America.

At the same time, Newrest says it continues to grow in emerging markets with high potential such as Guyana, Zambia and Uganda, while exploring new opportunities in Namibia and Suriname.

Newrest says its reliability and expertise are reflected in its partnerships with global mining leaders such as Anglo American for flagship projects like Quellaveco in Peru and Chagres in Chile.

Olivier Sadran, President of Newrest, said: “Our expertise in remote site management allows us to meet the most demanding challenges while ensuring high standards of quality and safety. We are proud of the progress made and excited to collaborate on new ambitious projects in 2025.”
