Karen Lloyd will join the team at Genesis Minerals as a non-executive director from April 1.
Lloyd is an experienced mining engineer and geologist with a PhD in mining and metallurgical engineering from the WA School of Mines.
Genesis chairman Tony Kiernan said the board is looking forward to welcoming Lloyd to the team.
“Karen’s knowledge and diverse range of experience across all aspects of the mining business will complement the board’s existing skill set and prove invaluable as we implement our growth strategy,” he said.
“Genesis has established the asset base to ensure we meet our 300,000 ounces per annum target.
“We are now focussed on the operational and commercial strategies which will drive this growth and Karen’s deep technical understanding of our industry means she will play a key role in helping us achieve these objectives.”
Lloyd currently holds a position as a non-executive director on the board of Tungsten Metals Group. She also leads independent consultancy Jorvik Resources.
Her previous roles have included chief strategy officer for Genmin, associate principal at SRK Consulting, principal corporate advistory at Coffey Mining, senior investment analayst at CITIC Pacific Mining and senior geotechnical and mine planning engineer at BHP.
Genesis Minerals revealed its five-year strategic plan last week, with total gold production equalling 1.3 million ounces (Moz).
Under the strategy, Genesis will increase production from its operations over the five-year period from 140,000oz in FY24 to 325,000oz in FY29.
