Metso has appointed Pasi Kyckling as its new chief financial officer (CFO), taking effect by July 2025 at the latest.
Kyckling is currently serving as acting CFO and group transformation officer at Stora Enso and is set to bring extensive experience to Metso. He holds a Master’s degree in economics and has held various leadership roles at Stora Enso in finance, strategy, and IT, including positions in the biomaterials division, group treasury, and group controlling.
“I am excited about this opportunity to join Metso, which is known as a leading company in its field and has interesting opportunities ahead,” Kyckling said.
“I look forward to working with my new colleagues to develop not only all areas of Metso’s financial management but also the company’s strategy and future direction towards even greater success.”
Metso president and chief executive officer Sami Takaluoma welcomed Kyckling to the company.
“I am convinced that his diverse experience and expertise will play a significant role in Metso’s development, growth, and value creation,” Takaluoma said.
Kyckling will succeed Eeva Sipilä, Metso’s current CFO, who is set to depart by April 2025 to take up a new role elsewhere.
Metso’s announcement comes as the company continues to position itself for growth and innovation in its sector, with Kyckling’s expertise anticipated to play a key role in shaping its financial strategy.
In other recent news at the company, Metso has introduced the next generation of its anode furnace, ideal for refining blister copper or melting and refining high-grade secondary copper into anode copper.
The typical fire refining process sees an anode furnace capable of treating blister copper into anode copper. This is done through air oxidation and reduction by a reductant such as natural gas in order to purify the copper.
