MLG Oz teams with Fortescue

Beginning July, MLG Oz is set to provide crushing and screening (stemming) services across four iron ore mines in Western Australia owned by Fortescue.

Under the two-year contract, MLG Oz will deliver fully maintained mobile crushing and screening equipment, personnel, and associated infrastructure to Fortesue’s Christmas Creek, Cloudbreak, Solomon and Eliwana iron ore mines in the Pilbara region – helping supply stemming services across the operation.

The new contract award, which includes a 12-month extension period, follows the first contract-crushing project being awarded to MLG by Fortescue in 2014.

MLG Oz’s other projects for Fortescue over the past decade include the commissioning two crushing and screening plants at Christmas Creek, and the production of high-quality blast hole stemming aggregate across Solomon, Christmas Creek, and Cloudbreak.

“We have been helping service Fortescue’s crushing and screening needs for a long period of time now, and we are delighted to have extended this relationship for the next two to three years,” MLG Oz managing director Murray Leahy said.

“Our crushing and screening business has now locked in substantial work for the immediate future and is confident of securing further work as we continue to broaden our capabilities and market presence.”

MLG Oz’s pipeline of contracts includes a bulk haulage services deal with Westgold Resources, a mining services contract with Rio Tinto, a haulage and site services agreement with Northern Star Resources, a mining services contract with Evolution Mining, and a bulk haulage services deal with Vault Minerals.
