Mineral Resources (MinRes) has received recognition for its 2023 annual reporting suite at the 2024 Australasian Reporting Awards (ARA) in Sydney.
The ARA aims to provide companies with an opportunity to benchmark their reports against specific criteria based on best practice across the world.
The awards aim to improve the quality of annual reporting and raise public awareness of the purposes of organisations and their achievements.
For the third year in a row, MinRes received a Gold Award recognition in the Sustainability Reporting Award category for its 2023 sustainability report and a Silver Award in the General Award category for its 2023 annual report.
This year MinRes was also named as a finalist in the Special Award for Online Reporting.
The sustainability report highlights recent progress against material sustainability topics, while the annual report summarises operational and financial results for the fiscal year.
MinRes corporate development executive general manager James Bruce was on hand at the ARA presentation dinner to receive the awards on MinRes’ behalf.
“Producing the sustainability report is a combined effort from departments across the business working with our sustainability team and is a huge undertaking,” Bruce said.
“Our report underscores our commitment to enhancing our performance while demonstrating our social license to operate and creating sustainable value.”
Producing the annual reporting suite is a combined effort from teams across the business and also includes the company’s sustainability data tables, modern slavery statement, tax transparency report and corporate governance statement.
ARA is an independent not-for-profit organisation run by volunteer professionals from the business, government, and not-for-profit sectors, with support from organisations encouraging quality business and financial reporting.
