Since its inception in 2017, CiDi has been at the forefront of autonomous driving technology. With a vision to enhance life through intelligent driving, CiDi has developed a range of products that integrate smart vehicles with intelligent infrastructure.

CiDi’s autonomous heavy trucks and driverless electric mining trucks are part of a comprehensive ecosystem of products that includes vehicle-to-infrastructure technology, ensuring safer and more efficient transportation.

CiDi’s technological edge is evident in its hardware and software systems, which enable high-precision positioning, intelligent decision-making, and V2X (vehicle-to-everything) cooperative vehicles. These capabilities have allowed CiDi to implement driverless operations in mining areas, significantly reducing labor costs and enhancing safety.

The driverless driving system in mining areas is a cloud-based, network-connected autonomous driving solution with functions such as operation management, online status monitoring, and emergency driving safety takeover.

The future of mining: Electric autonomous-driving trucks

CiDi’s electric autonomous-driving mining trucks achieve advanced functionality with sensor-fusion using cameras, LiDAR, and millimetre-wave radar, which ensure precise obstacle detection and all-weather operation. The trucks’ electrification and drive-by-wire technology not only contribute to zero emissions, but also offer easy maintenance and fast charging capabilities.

With capacities ranging from 60t to 100t, these trucks can communicate with other vehicles, road infrastructure, and cloud systems, and have been proven to work 1.04 times more efficiently than human-driven trucks, with 88% lower operating costs.

Modernising mining operations with world-class automation
