Major mining services company Perenti has announced an influx of new work contracts and extensions.
The miner will continue underground development and production works at the Regis Resources Garden Well and Rosemont underground gold mines in Western Australia under a six-month $70 million contract.
Perenti has also been awarded $27 million by BHP to undertake exploration surface drilling services over two years at the BHP Mitsubishi Alliance site in Queensland.
The company will also complete a $14 million underground drilling work contract at Catalyst Metal’s Plutonic underground gold mine in WA over the next two years, subject to finalisation of contract terms.
Perenti also announced its UMA joint venture between its subsidiary company African Underground Mining Services (AUMS) and Rocksure International, a local Ghanaian civil and mining contractor, has received a limited notice to proceed initial underground development works at the Newmont Akyem underground gold mine in Ghana.
Contractual negotiations are still underway but once finalised could represent $32 million in revenue over an initial term of 11 months, with a capital structure similar to that adopted for Newmont’s Subika project, also located in Ghana.
“The award of these contracts and the limited notice to proceed across both our underground and surface mining businesses demonstrates the diversity of our service offering and the strength of the relationships we share with our clients,” Perenti managing director and chief executive officer Mark Norwell said.
“Collectively these three contracts and the limited notice to proceed represent nearly $150 million of revenue across FY24 (financial year 2024) and into FY25 and come after the recent announcement in which Perenti secured $360 million of revenue at the Sandfire Resources A4 project in Botswana.”
The Sandfire Resources A4 project is located within the larger Motheo copper mine in Ghanzi, Botswana.
The contract will be undertaken by AUMS with pre-production and development work to commence this month with pre-strip mining to start in October.
