Midland Exploration, in collaboration with Wallbridge Mining, has initiated a diamond drilling campaign at the Casault gold property in Quebec, Canada.
This programme includes five drill-holes totalling 1,100m, targeting a new area north of the Sunday Lake Fault.
The drilling work is set to explore a new prospective zone that has shown significant potential with the discovery of 112 gold grains in till samples, 97 of which were pristine.
This area, which has not been previously explored, lies north of a gold-in-till anomaly identified in a prior overburden drilling programme.
In addition to the drilling, Midland and Wallbridge conducted extensive geological and structural mapping over the summer.
In a press statement, Midland Exploration said: “This important structure is a first order metallotect to which are associated the Detour Lake gold mine in Ontario and the Fenelon Gold and Martiniere gold deposits in Quebec.

“The new high-priority target is favourably located, approximately 18 kilometres west of the Fenelon Gold deposit held by Wallbridge.”
The eight-day mapping project at Casault West and Casault East aimed to evaluate regional structures and potential mineralisation near the Martiniere property, adjacent to the Turgeon Pluton, and within the sedimentary basin on Casault East.
Comprising both Casault West and Casault East claim blocks, the Casault gold property spans more than 177km² and is positioned between Wallbridge’s Martiniere and Detour East gold properties.
Wallbridge holds the option to acquire up to a 65% interest in the Casault property from Midland.
The property covers more than 20km of the Sunday Lake Deformation Zone, a region known for its significant gold deposits.
