Medaro begins drilling at Canadian lithium property

Medaro Mining has started a diamond drilling programme at its Lac La Motte lithium property in Quebec, Canada.

The programme, conducted by drilling contractor Forage Pelletier, is set to cover 1,000–1,500m of diamond drilling and may expand subject to additional funding.

Situated in the Val-d’Or area of Quebec, the Lac La Motte property has been the subject of recent Satellite Imaging Technology (SIT) surveys.

These surveys intended to locate the source of a spodumene-bearing pegmatite boulder discovered during prior fieldwork on the property in 2023. The survey returned an assay of 5,380 parts per million (ppm) lithium, or 1.15% lithium oxide.

Subsequent reconnaissance sampling in May 2024 further refined the drill targets for the current programme.

Medaro’s Lac La Motte North property is located in the Abitibi mining region, approximately 40km north-west of Val-d’Or.

Medaro CEO Michael Mulberry said: “We are excited to launch this drilling programme at Lac La Motte. Our earlier exploration work, including the discovery of high-grade lithium-bearing pegmatite boulder, has provided us with strong drill targets.

“The programme represents a critical next step in advancing the project as we work towards unlocking its full potential. The Val-d’Or region is known for its rich mineral resources, and we are optimistic about the opportunities that lie ahead.”

The company plans to transport the drill core from the programme to a core shack in the St-Dominique du Rosaire for core logging, sample preparation and storage.

St-Dominique du Rosaire is located around 50km from the property.

The property comprises 13 contiguous claims covering a total area of 586.05 hectares.
