Lunnon’s drilling reveals ‘high-ranking opportunity’

Lunnon Metals’ Plentiful gold prospect at its Kambalda gold and nickel project continues to deliver as gold assays revealed a 600-metre-long geophysical magnetic anomaly containing differentiated dolerite.

The company said the drilling results indicated a “high ranking opportunity”, with gold assays from reverse circulation (RC) drilling returned from the Plentiful area hosting multiple opportunities associated with a 600m long geophysical magnetic anomaly.

An added boon that stemmed from the deepest reverse circulation drilling (RC) scout hole (PBSRC25_039) in the campaign that intersected 8 metres of gold mineralisation grading 0.75/t Au, more than 200 metres down from the nearest hole, resulting in the Plentiful prospect now having a dip extent of over 450 metres.

Found within the Paringa Basalt stratigraphy, the anomaly is located roughly 3km to the south-southwest of Gold Fields’ Victory-Leviathan gold complex, and roughly 4km to the northwest of the Argo-Apollo gold complex.

Lunnon Metals managing director Edmund Ainscough said that while drilling at Lady Herial is complete for now, “it’s still full steam ahead at our other prospects looking to advance one, two or more to join Lady Herial in our development pipeline”.

“Plentiful had been on the back burner whilst we focused on delivering the Lady Herial Mineral Resource, Scoping Study and now the Ore Purchase Agreement,” he said.

Assay results from the current program returned the following intervals that the company said were recorded at a range of mostly shallow depths with a >0.5g/t Au cut-off.

Some of the most significant findings included 24 metres at 0.74g/t Au (PBS25RC_032 from 49m), followed by 18 metres at 0.84g/t Au (PBS25RC_034 from 48m), and 10 metres at 1.23g/t Au (PBS25RC_030 from 33m).

“These latest results have not only improved the definition of the near surface gold opportunity but more importantly, extended the mineralisation down plunge an additional 200 metres,” Ainscough said.

Accessed through reverse circulation drilling (RC), previous endeavors by the company included near-surface gold assays, including one at six metres at 3.02/t Au (PBS24RC_001 from 64m), and one at five metres at 10.07g/t Au (PBS24RC_003 from 79m).

The current program at Plentiful was completed at an approximate 20-metre by 20-metre spacing near surface; this also included deeper step out scout holes that were drilled along the magnetic anomaly.

Speaking on Plentiful’s plunge now ranging over 450 metres, Ainscough said that it has had “significant implications for the possible extent of the structure down dip, but also laterally to the north and south”.

“The Plentiful area is shaping up to be part of a much larger system than originally thought and is developing some width and scale to the gold mineralisation present.

“This is extremely encouraging, located as it is between the great Victory and Argo historical gold mining centres,” he said.
