Lincoln Minerals has confirmed multiple high-priority drill targets at its Minbrie copper-base metals project on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula.
Following an extensive technical reassessment, including 3D modelling, re-logging of 1775m of historical core and 344 new laboratory assays, the company has significantly de-risked the next phase of exploration.
The data confirms large-scale mineralisation potential across the underexplored footwall of the Bungalow magnetite deposit.
“The identification of a multiphase sulphide system, supported by 3D geological modelling, provides a strong framework to target both oxide and sulphide zones,” Lincoln chief executive officer Jonathon Trewartha said.
“With approvals expected shortly, Minbrie is well positioned to demonstrate its potential as a significant copper and base metals discovery in the Gawler Craton.”
Key targets include the BUDD1921 Zone, where historic drilling returned 29.5m at 0.8 per cent copper, 7.5 per cent lead, 1.9 per cent zinc, and 9g/t gold from 131.1m; and BURCD0301, which showed bornite-rich veining with portable XRF readings up to 3.03 per cent copper near the end-of-hole.
The newly refined 3D model has mapped three key trap zones defined by favourable lithologies and structural intersections.
Notably, trap zone 1 adjacent to discovery hole BUDD1921 has emerged as a high-priority area, while trap zones 2 and 3 will test oxide/supergene enrichment and structural conduits respectively.
Lincoln has submitted its Program for Environment Protection and Rehabilitation (PEPR), with no expected delays. Contractor engagement is underway and drilling is anticipated to commence as soon as approvals are secured.
With the Minbrie project located in the mineral-rich Kalinjala Shear Zone, Lincoln is confident in unlocking a new copper-base metals system, supported by historical data and modern targeting tools.
