Komatsu a finalist at Lord Mayor’s Business Awards

Komatsu Australia has been announced as a finalist in the 2024 Lord Mayor’s Business Awards as part of the ISPT Investment in Brisbane award.

The recognition honours businesses that have made significant investments in Brisbane, contributing to the city’s development and future growth.

Komatsu Australia’s nomination highlights its long-standing commitment to the Brisbane region, where the company has operated since 1978.

Through the establishment of the Komatsu Innovation Hub and distribution centre, the company has invested in cutting-edge technologies for the mining and construction sectors while supporting the local economy and workforce.

The Komatsu Innovation Hub has emerged as a global leader in advanced technology, addressing industry challenges such as labour shortages and mine site safety.

The hub plays a key role in Brisbane’s economic development, creating jobs, fostering collaboration with educational institutions, and driving innovation.

Komatsu’s Brisbane facilities employ over 500 people and generate $90 million annually, benefitting more than 1200 customers across the region.

“Our continued investment in Brisbane reinforces our belief in the city as a key hub for economic activity and customer support on Australia’s east coast,” the company said.

“Through the Innovation Hub, we are proud to not only support our customers but also contribute to the community by engaging with local partners and sharing insights to drive growth.”

As Komatsu Australia awaits the upcoming awards ceremony, the company celebrates its recognition as a key player in Brisbane’s growth, reaffirming its commitment to both local and global communities.
