Kia Sold 239,571 units in January 2025

London, Febuary 04, 2025, (Oilandgaspress) –––Kia Corporation today announced global sales for January 2025 of 239,571 units, excluding special purpose vehicles. The Sportage SUV drove Kia’s January sales, recording 43,473 units globally. The Seltos and Sorento SUVs backed up this continued market performance, with the Seltos SUV recording global sales of 22,198 units. The Sorento SUV sold 21,421 units globally. Kia’s total global sales in January were down 2.4 percent year over year.

Sales outside of Korea

Outside of Korea, Kia recorded sales of 200,993 units, up 0.1 percent compared with the same period in 2024.

The Sportage SUV led the brand’s performance in markets outside of Korea, with 36,926 sales. It was followed by the K3 (including its successor in some markets, the K4 compact sedan) with sales of 18,663 units, and the Seltos SUV, which sold 17,856 units.

Kia global sales – January 2025

In the Korean market, Kia sold 38,403 units, a 13.9 percent decrease compared with the same period last year. A reduction in the number of business days in January due to the Lunar New Year holiday impacted sales in South Korea.

The Sorento SUV led the company’s passenger vehicle sales in its home market, with 7,454 units. This was followed by the Sportage SUV, which sold 6,547 units, and the Carnival MPV, with 6,068 sales.

Kia will continue to build on its global sales momentum this year with the launch of new models, including the Tasman pickup, Syros SUV, PV5 PBV, and the all-electric EV4 and EV5. Earlier this year, the company announced that it is aiming for global sales of 3.22 million units in 2025, a 4.1 percent increase compared with 2024.
