Office and Administrative Support Occupations drive mining hiring activity
Of the industry’s total hiring activity, the highest number of new job postings were for Office and Administrative Support Occupations, which accounted for 8% of the total new job postings in Q2 2023 and were up by 8% year-on-year. Second highest were Business and Financial Operations Occupations, which accounted for 8% and drop by 26% year-on-year, and third highest were Architecture and Engineering Occupations, which were 58% of the new job postings and 50% lower year-on-year.
Top five companies in mining accounted for 85% of hiring activity
The highest number of jobs were posted by Cummins with 583, followed by Caterpillar with 235, while the highest increase was at ABB at 15%.
