High-grade copper, zinc and gold intercepts at Golden Grove have geared 29Metals for mine-life extensions, while also revealing that two deposits might be part of a single large mineralised system.
The Western Australia site produced results from its ongoing drill programs in the Oizon and Hougoumont extended orebodies, both of which 29Metals said could not only boost production, but also be fiscally sustainable by sharing infrastructure.
Resource extension (RE) drilling from eight holes yielded results from both Oizon and Hougoumont’s copper-dominant zone, including 9.7 metres at 1.5 per cent copper (Cu), 2.6 per cent zinc (Zn), 1.0 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold (Au), 18 grams per tonne of silver (Ag), from 353.9 metres.
This included a finding from 2.5 metres at 3.8 per cent Cu, 2.6 per cent Zn, 2.9g/t Au, 43g/t Ag from 357.8 metres.
Company chief executive officer (CEO) James Palmer said that the 2025 drill program’s delivery of continued high-grade RE intercepts further highlights the growth potential of the Gossan Hill mine at Golden Grove.
“Today’s results show that Oizon and Hougoumont extended are potentially a single large mineralised system at depth, which could significantly improve the future economics of this area,” he said.
As for the two areas’ zinc-dominant zones, there were intercept results of 16.9 metres at 1.6 per cent Cu, 6.2 per cent Zn, 0.8g/t Au, 21g/t Ag, from 339 metres.
This finding included a hit from 3.1 metres at 0.4 per cent Cu, 23.4 per cent Zn, 0.5g/t Au and 8g/t Ag from 344.9 metres.
The company said that the neighbouring Europa site has continued highlighting its potential as a longer date high-grade copper ore source at Gossan Hill.
RE drilling at Europa intercepted 17 metres at 1.6 per cent Cu, 0.2g/t Au, and 13g/t Ag from 755 metres.
This included 1.6 metres at 6.5 per cent Cu, 0.4g/t Au and 47g/t Ag from the same depth.
These results come from the company’s September announcement of hitting high-grade copper and zinc at Golden Grove, further delivering on its stance of growth opportunities and mine of life extensions.
