A couple of years ago, I reviewed an innovative and interesting scooter: the Hiboy VE1 Pro. Unlike most scooters, it was more of a cross between a kick scooter and a bicycle. By having bike wheels and tires instead of little rollerblade wheels, it was a lot more stable, even at top speed. At all speeds, it was just a lot more comfortable and fun to ride.

Now, Hiboy is taking things to the next level with the S2 Pro and the MAX Pro! And these awesome scooters are available for some great prices for Black Friday.

The S2 Pro

In short, the S2 Pro is the most competitive electric scooter you can get for under $400. Intended for a reliable commute, it has wheels that live somewhere between those of a rollerblade and those of a bike. With a hard core and compact pneumatic tires, the bike is both compact enough to carry inside the building as well as stable and safe enough to use for a real commute. Between the extra rotating mass, the grip, the dual rear suspension, and the general (but manageable) heft of the machine, it’s something most anyone would feel comfortable riding to work.

The EV system is also impressive. The 36-volt battery pack (11.6 amp-hours, or a little over 400 watt-hours) provides up to 25.6 miles of riding range (in ideal conditions). The 500-watt motor can propel the scooter to speeds of up to 19 MPH. It also comes with regenerative braking, which not only helps extend the range, but gives you greater safety and control by having two braking systems.

Other convenience and safety features include two speed modes, LED lighting, cruise control, and app connectivity. Weighing in at 37 pounds, it’s still easy enough to take inside to keep the vehicle away from thieves.

The MAX Pro

If you’re looking for something with a little more pep, Hiboy has another option: the MAX Pro. By “MAX,” Hiboy means that the scooter has the longest range in its class. With a 48-volt, 15 amp-hour battery, the battery pack can give up to 46 miles of range. But, it doesn’t get that range by going slow. The motor can put out up to 650 watts and achieve a top speed of up to 22 MPH.

Stability and comfort are also improved, with 11-inch-wide pneumatic tires, dual suspension, and dual braking. Beyond that, it has all of the features of the S2 Pro above, making it all upgrade and no sacrifice. With a price of $639, it’s not a huge financial leap for the upgrade.

But, be sure to catch these deals soon before the holidays come and go!
