Raiden Resources will commence heritage surveys on areas in the Andover North and South lithium deposits, which hosts Azure Minerals’ Andover deposit.
The survey will focus on the areas interpreted to be underlain by the Andover complex ultramafic rocks, which host Azure’s lithium deposit and defined spodumene bearing pegmatites on Raiden’s Andover South project.
On completion of the survey, Raiden will aim to commence with an air core drilling campaign in order to define potential pegmatite targets for further drill testing.
The company will work with the Ngarluma Traditional Owners across the entire project area.
“We are very pleased to have now secured heritage surveys over both the Andover North and Andover South projects,” Raiden managing director Dusko Ljubjevic said.
“The Andover North project survey will be conducted immediately after the Andover South survey, allowing the company to commence with targeting work on Andover North, which may hopefully lead into a broader drilling campaign across all the Andover projects.”
In January, Azure Minerals confirmed the presence of a “major lithium mineralised system” at Andover.
The major lithium discovery followed Gina Rinehart’s Hancock Prospecting teaming up with Chilean major SQM to acquire Azure right before Christmas.
Based on updated interpretations of historical and recent data, Raiden believes the Andover complex to cover an even larger area than previously mapped.
The heritage survey is set to commence on April 2.
