London, August 13, 2025, (Oilandgaspress) –––The fourth launch with 11 satellites for the Geely Future Mobility Constellation has been successfully completed. All 11 satellites have now entered their planned low-earth orbits and are functioning normally.
With the latest launch, the number of satellites in the Geely Future Mobility Constellation has increased to 41. Over the next two months, further launches aim to raise the number of satellites deployed to 64. The first phase of the Geely Future Mobility Constellation with 72 satellites deployed is planned to be completed by the end of 2025.
The Geely Future Mobility Constellation is independently built and operated by GeeSpace, a commercial aerospace company under Geely Holding Group. GeeSpace goal in establishing the constellation is to create a global commercial satellite IoT communications network primarily to support future smart vehicle functionality.
This latest launch on the Smart Dragon-3 rocket from a converted ship off the coast near Rizhao, Shandong Province, China was the first time Geely has launched its satellites from sea. Geely’s next two launches are also planned to take place at sea.
Low-orbit satellite communications have quickly become integral to intelligent connected vehicles, by leveraging the Geely Future Mobility Constellation, GeeSpace has established partnerships with telecom operators in over 20 countries across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
