Motion Engineering and Services has announced a significant expansion to its product and service offering for the Australian mining and construction sectors with its decision to import and stock the latest generation O&K model S54 slew drive gearboxes.

O&K is a world leader in the design, development, and manufacture of planetary drives. The range includes travel drives, final drives, slew drives and cutter drives for tracked mobile machinery as well as gears for wind-energy units.

The O&K philosophy is focused on high technological standard of development, production, and quality, to ensure high performance, availability, and reliability levels required in today’s market.

Suitable for all Caterpillar mining class excavators from a 120-tonne class machine up to a 1000-tonne class digger, the proven S54 drives have an output torque range of 130kNm and work in 23:1 and 67:1 gear ratio. These gearboxes are a direct fit into the mining class excavators with no modifications required.

Other standard features include a compact structure which means they can be fitted into equipment where space is at a premium and high performance, derived from decades of experience in designing and engineering sophisticated drives and gearboxes. The notchless ground tooth root is designed to enhance efficiency, torque generation and integrated disc brakes.
