Fortescue recognised for workplace equality initiatives

Fortescue has been named a ‘best company for equal advancement opportunity’ for the sixth year in a row by Parity.Org, a leading organisation unlocking diversity in organisational leadership.

The annual ParityLIST recognises organisations creating culture and conditions where all employees can have an equal opportunity to advance their careers and succeed.

The list ranks companies against a rubric spanning recruiting, promotion, compensation practices, employee benefits and policies.

Fortescue was one of five large companies recognised on the 2025 ParityLIST, and the only resources company on the list altogether.

“Through our First Nations leadership programs, diversity employee network groups, and global consultation on diversity and inclusion, we’re building a workplace where every voice counts and everyone has a fair shot at success,” Fortescue said.

“It’s an honour to be recognised alongside companies driving real change.”

The healthcare sector was largely recognised by the 2025 ParityLIST, with Athenahealth, CHG Healthcare, Evolent, Boundless, NorthStar Care, Utah’s Promise and Recursion Pharmaceuticals making the cut.

Software and technology organisations also made a splash, with companies such as Alight, Lucid, Motive, PagerDuty, Rapid7, DOMO, Employmetrics, Recorded Future, Synctera and Weave making the list.

Fortescue’s recognition from Parity.Org follows multiple announcements from the major miner.

Dino Otranto was promoted to Fortescue chief executive officer of metals and operations, after previously being head of the company’s metals business solely.

In this expanded role, Otranto will oversee global electrification, decarbonisation, and hydrogen production.

Fortescue’s Iron Bridge operation in Western Australia is also on track to meet its shipment guidance for the 2024–25 financial year (FY25), with the asset expected to hit its nameplate capacity in FY28.
