Terrain Minerals has released “exciting” gold drilling results from its Lightning prospect in its wholly-owned Smokebush project in Western Australia, showing multiple thick high-grade gold intersections.
Reverse circulation (RC) drilling programs conducted in the Murchison region achieved an 80 per cent success rate in intersected gold mineralisation from the 21 holes drilled.
Results from the RC program returned a series of high-grade intercepts, including 13m at 8.13 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold from 122m including 2m at 48.22g/t gold, 17m at 3.43g/t gold from 147m including 2m at 17.17g/t gold and 22m at 2.71g/t gold from 105m.
The results underscore the “robustness” of the mineralised system and the effectiveness of its exploration model, the company said, with previous drilling results also indicating elevated silver grades at Lightning which returned 43.5g/t silver from 75m.
Further assay results for base metals and silver are pending.
“This program has delivered some of the strongest results Terrain has achieved to date. The consistency of mineralisation, with multiple thick and high-grade intercepts across Lightning, confirms the strength of the system and validates our exploration strategy,” Terrain Minerals executive director Justin Virgin said.
“The results confirm that our use of geophysical modelling and structural interpretation is working. We have proven that induced polarisation can successfully vector us towards mineralisation, which significantly reduces risk and increases confidence as we continue to explore.”
It’s estimated a maiden mineral resource estimate will be published in 2026, with follow-up drilling also set to take place.
“These results, combined with the structural framework we now understand, provide a direct pathway to achieving that milestone and to creating shareholder value,” Virgin said.
