Antipa Minerals has posted stellar numbers at its flagship Minyari cold-copper project, including gold intersections of up to 200 gram-metres.
Antipa managing director Roger Mason said the early drilling results are “delivering exactly” to expectations for the project. The results included 12m at 16.7g/t gold and 0.13% copper, and a 1m interval running 176.5g/t gold.
“The exceptional grades intersected at the Minyari deposit, together with the hits at WACA and GEO-01, provide a strong foundation for the upcoming mineral resource update and the PFS [pre-feasibility study],” Mason said.
“At the same time, broad-spaced drilling at the RPS and AL01 anomalies north of Minyari point to significant discovery potential across our tenure.”
Additionally, he said that a separate 18-metre section yielded 2.7g/t gold and 0.49 per cent copper, including a two-metre interval grading up to 17.3g/t gold.
The results bode well for the region as both a bed of development and discovery hub, with Antipa flagging it could see expanded production at the Minyari Dome site, which is 35 kilometres from Newmont’s Telfer gold-copper-silver mine.
Phase 2 drilling programs at the Minyari and WACA deposits are underway, scheduled for 25,000 to 35,000 metres.
“This year’s program is delivering exactly what it was designed to achieve, further advancing the development while adding new discoveries to build additional scale,” said Mason. “With Phase 2 drilling in progress, and more Phase 1 results to come, we look forward to reporting more success in the months ahead.”
Antipa has reported that results have been received on 55 of the 82 holes drilled, which represents two-thirds of figures now available. This includes the latest batch of 33 holes, with partial assays outstanding on one more.
Approximately 92 per cent of the resource definition drilling program has been completed. By the end of October, 1500 metres further diamond core drilling should also be concluded, according to the company.
The pre-feasibility study for further development opportunities are ongoing, with an ambition to de-risk and refine further sections at the Minyari Dome site. The additional areas will be predominantly at Minyari South, including the Main Zone, Minella, Fiama and Central deposits.
