EVZ has secured a $28.5 million contract through its subsidiary Brockman Engineering to support Iluka Resources’ Eneabba rare earths refinery in Western Australia.
Brockman Engineering will collaborate with Tank Industries to deliver five bulk storage tanks to the refinery, which underpins Australia’s efforts to bolster its role in global rare earths supply chains.
Brockman and Tank Industries have worked closely with Iluka and the project’s engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) company, Fluor Australia, to develop innovative process storage solutions tailored to the refinery’s stringent technical specifications.
Work on the design and fabrication of the tanks commences immediately, with site mobilisation scheduled for the third quarter of 2025 and completion expected in the first half of 2026.
The refinery will play a critical role in processing rare earth elements, essential components in high-tech applications such as electric vehicles, renewable energy technologies, and advanced electronics.
“We are very pleased with the ongoing success of our businesses in the energy and resources sectors, as they expand their presence and grow their backlog for the upcoming periods,” EVZ chief executive officer Scott Farthing said.
“These project successes place our businesses amongst the top innovative providers in their industry and provide a firm base from which to grow revenues and profits as our market sector-focused strategic plan evolves.”
The Eneabba rare earths refinery contract will contribute significantly to EVZ’s revenue and earnings in the 2024–25 and 2025–26 financial years, solidifying the company’s position as a leader in Australia’s critical minerals infrastructure development.
It comes after Brockman Engineering was awarded a contract from Rio Tinto in August 2024.
Valued at $23 million, the contract involves the design, procurement and construction of bulk process water tanks for Rio’s seawater desalination plant in Dampier, WA.
