If you are not living under a rock, odds are, you’re aware that climate change is real and has pretty bad repercussions for everyone and everything on this beautiful little planet we call home. There are a lot of folks who are working on solving this — more than we could possibly know. And it always gives me joy to learn of someone working on a problem that will help solve a slice of the climate pie. There are so many times that I meet someone who is actively working on a solution for a problem that I didn’t even know existed. And that knowledge does help me just keep focusing on the work we do here at CleanTechnica, where our mission has always been to accelerate the cleantech revolution through high-integrity journalism.

But it can get overwhelming, there’s no doubt about it. It’s a heavy burden sometimes, and one that we can’t just bust out at parties or at the dinner table without being Debbie Downer, so we internalize it, and that exacerbates the problem. We’re here to help — please join our webinar, November 14, where you’ll learn a free program that you can customize and personalize to your heart’s content, and that has a ton of research supporting its efficacy in handling stress, burnout, and, well, honestly, just creating joy and happiness.

There are two additional groups of people that we need to bring into the climate movement. If you know anyone in these spaces, please forward them the registration link to the webinar and we’ll do our best to create lifelong allies.

The first is those who are aware and who care, but who’ve tuned out/burned out. It happens for a couple of reasons, not least of which is disillusionment and confusion. CleanTechnica has never taken money from fossil, chemical, or other big polluting industries, so that we could maintain our integrity, and we’re pretty proud of the fact that we’ve made this business work without those big paychecks. Contrast that with Sustainable Brands, where the makers of agricultural chemicals that facilitate monocropping were the sponsors of the sustainable agriculture track … and you’ll start to see the problem. The other problem that drives this group away is burnout. More on that in a moment.

The other group that we need to bring into the climate movement is those who feel overwhelmed and scared, and for reasons of self-preservation, decide to believe climate denialists and their claims that maybe this is normal (it is not), maybe this is caused by solar flares (dude…), maybe this is Chinese propaganda to slow other countries’ economies (hello to the 330,000 people employed by new jobs created by the Inflation Reduction Act, the largest climate action legislation ever passed…). This group may need to believe these things because they’re working two jobs and trying to get their kids through to adulthood. They may have many, many reasons why taking the easy way out and believing the balm offered by fossil funded propaganda trumps the truth (oh, man, please pardon my pun, I’m sorry, I just couldn’t resist).

Both of these groups can be brought in/back to the climate movement if they have the tools and knowledge to be able to join us and stay with us.
