EQ Resources CEO steps down

EQ Resources chief executive officer (CEO) Kevin MacNeill is set to become the company’s chief technical officer (CTO), with the transition to take effect on April 1.

Throughout 2025, EQ plans to make further advancements to its successful turnaround initiatives at the Saloro tungsten operations in Spain and to complete essential plant capacity expansion works at the Mt Carbine tungsten operation in Queensland.

Because these works, alongside EQ’s growth development projects such as the Wolfram Camp mine in Queensland, require further senior management capacity, MacNeill – along with the EQ board – decided to transition from CEO to CTO.

MacNeill will work reduced working hours compared to his current role due to personal reasons.

“Kevin has been an instrumental part of the company’s growth and success since joining in 2019,” EQ chair Oliver Kleinhempel said.

“His dedication and hard work to deliver improved production and recovery rates at our operations has played a significant part in why EQ is now the largest tungsten concentrate producer in the Western world.

“During the transition from his role as CEO to CTO, Kevin will focus on and continue to build on recent success and drive operational excellence at our tungsten assets in Australia and Spain. The board thanks Kevin for his leadership as CEO and looks forward to continuing to work with him in his new capacity.”

MacNeill will leverage his technical experience to guarantee production and recovery rate improvements are realised at Mt Carbine and Saloro.

The EQ board is currently building further leadership capacity to ensure the company’s growth strategy is achieved.
